Whether you're into road touring or braving it over the dirt, whether you're a seasoned cyclist or a beginner, the Five Borough Bicycle Club has something for you. Now in its 17th year, the 5BBC offers free day rides within New York City and environs every weekend year-round. They go to the beach and the mountains and most places in between. They also offer affordable weekend trips to Cape Cod, the Berkshires, Pennsylvania Dutch country, and elsewhere.

NORBA or the National Off-Road Bicycle Association is the national governing body for the sport of mountain biking in the United States. NORBA creates the rules for the sport of mountain bike racing (USA Cycling Mountain Bike) as well as the rules for the USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championship. USA Cycling Mountain Bike is a division of USA Cycling, which is itself a part of Union Cycliste Internationale or UCI.

The New York Cycle Club is an educational and recreational organization for bicycle enthusiasts in New York City. With 2000+ members, they organize weekly rides, weekend trips, training programs and special events for novice and experienced cyclists.

Kissena is the premier cycling club in New York City, founded in 1963. They are dedicated to supporting bicycling and cyclists of all levels with a special interest in developing new (young and old) racers. We also promote a large number of races in Prospect Park, Floyd Bennet Field and the Kissena Velodrome.

The New York City Mountain Bike Association builds and maintains trails in the five boroughs of New York City, advocates locally and regionally for the sport of mountain biking, and fosters a community of mountain bikers in NYC. In addition to building and maintaining trails, they are committed to programming events and races for youth and adults in the five boroughs, and their goal is to get more people out riding mountain bikes on trails in and out of the city.

Founded in 1898, CRCA is a bicycle racing club in New York City that provides coaching and friendly competition for all ages. CRCA was named the USA Cycling Division 1 Club of the Year for 2009. They hold club races for men, women and juniors in graded races based on ability on most weekends from March through September in Central Park, and promote a number of open races each year. They are the largest racing club in the United States. The emphasis of the club is development — preparing riders to succeed in open races. Expert coaching is free to members. The club looks to hold forums for tips on training, nutrition and other topics of interest to cyclists.

Recycle-A-Bicycle is a community-based bike shop and non-profit organization that provides educational/job training programs and encourages environmental stewardship and everyday bicycle use. Through programs such as Earn-A-Bike, Ride Club, Cycle Craft, and Summer Youth Employment Program, RAB is dedicated to the health and well-being of NYC youth. In this past year alone, RAB has worked with more than 1,000 young people and collectively pedaled more than 10,000 miles. On average, RAB salvages 1,200 bicycles each year from the waste stream, diverting a total of 36,000 pounds of waste from NYC's landfills.

Their Mission is to reclaim New York City's streets from the automobile, and to advocate for bicycling, walking and public transit as the best transportation alternatives. Since their founding in 1973, T.A. has helped win numerous improvements for cyclists and pedestrians and has been the leading voice for reducing car use in the city. T.A. seeks to change New York City's transportation priorities to encourage and increase non-polluting, quiet, city-friendly travel and decrease--not ban--private car use.

Granny Gear Productions is proud to present the biggest and best 24 hour mountain bike team relay races in the world. Twenty-four hour team relay racing highlights the sportsmanship, camaraderie and gritty, hard-core fun that have been hallmarks of mountain bike racing from the very beginning. Invented in 1992 by Granny Gear's founder, Laird Knight, these events were designed from the ground-up to appeal to the mountain biker's keen sense of fun. For the racers, these events are some of the most memorable experiences of their lives. For the fans and spectators, they are sports spectacles rivaling anything they have ever seen.

USA Cycling is responsible for identifying, selecting and training cyclists to represent the United States in international competition. The main goal of USA Cycling is to ensure the ongoing development of and safe participation in the sport of cycling.
